Founders Impress Investors at 10x Demo Night

9 startups took the stage at Eternity Theatre last week to pitch to a packed house of investors and the broader startup ecosystem. Almost 200 guests heard pitches spanning fintech, share economy, agtech, business platform and blockchain solutions.  

The night began with a warm welcome from Senior Programs Manager for the Founders Program; Luke Deacon, introducing the keynote speaker of the evening; Dr. Raji Ambikairajah. 

As a UNSW alum, CEO and the 2018 NSW Woman of the Year in the Community Hero category, she provided great insight on her journey from undergoing entrepreneurship at UNSW, to being a front runner in the technology space surrounding Sydney Start-ups and her current ventures focusing on philanthropy. Our the MC of the evening, our Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Brian Boyle, kept the night engaging and entertaining, introducing the latest cohort of 10x startups. 

Guests heard pitches from: 

  • ProcureBuild, a platform where builders can verify the suitability of their potential contractors 

  • Pearler, a social investment app 

  • TimeChi, a desktop device to boost productivity 

  • Jazoodle, an insights and business forecasting solution 

  • Alice, a portal to allow seamless Blockchain integrations to a wide array of services and applications 

  • Oscar, a share economy platform to lease vacant car spaces 

  • Visospace, a product to optimise the user experience in VR 

  • Lleaf, an agritech product to massively increase crop yields 

  • Cache, a new micro investment platform

Wrapping up the night was Dr. Elizabeth Eastland, UNSW's Director of Entrepreneurship thanking and honouring past and present founders, investors, friends and family followed by further networking and discussion.
