With an audience of roughly 70 people, nerves and excitement were high in the MCIC last week when UNSW students pitched their ideas for the chance to win $1000 worth of prototyping equipment.
The lineup of 9 teams pitched ideas including a modular residential lighting system, a smart water meter, a skin health app and an online platform to match Australian producers and artisans to overseas markets.
However, it was Jack Peterson, Bixuan Lin, Jack Jiang and Xueying Zhang winning over the judges for their innovative Moodle Plug-in idea. The Moodle plugin solves the issue that approximately 70% of university do not employ effective study techniques. It allows for easy integration of questions into moodle classes which in turn allows for students to easily access a question resource.
Among the judges were Fiona Tschaut; the Chief Operating Officer at the MCIC, Gregory Davis; the Prototype Manager and Melissa Pye; the 10x Program Manager.
