Tash Jamieson

UNSW Founders Startup Coach

Hi there! I’m Tash, and I’m one of the startup coaches here at UNSW Founders. I’m here to support you and your early-stage / pre series A startup in what ever way I can!

I have almost a decade of experience working internationally representing Australian business and diplomacy abroad, and have deep networks into China and India. I've also sat on the management board of a few international organisations, so know a thing or two about board governance, international team management, and leadership dynamics.

I'm an early-stage founder myself, and spend a lot of time thinking about brand values, team dynamics, building community and growth (on a shoestring budget!).

I truly believe that diverse teams make for the best companies, and founders who understand themselves make for great leaders.

I am also a part-time fitness instructor and musician and have advised recording artists with global crowdfunding campaigns and immersive event experiences. If you also need help with anything public speaking related, including pitching, I’m here to help!

My recommendations:

READ - Indistractable by Nir Eyal author of Hooked, the book that taught Silicon Valley how to design user behaviour, teaches us how to get our attention, and precious time, back!

LISTEN - How I Built This with Guy Raz. Each episode dives into the stories behind some of the world's best known companies. This podcast makes for great listening, as it weaves a narrative journey about innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists—and the movements they built.

WATCH - RuPaul’s Drag Race. RuPaul is my role model and entrepreneurial idol. Going from a club kid who once slept on city benches in Central Park, to now heading a media entertainment empire that has shattered boundaries and spanned decades. Also, the author of my all-time fave quote: “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?”
